Richard Motko is entering his 7th season as Assistant Coach with the men’s basketball program in 2017-18. Coach Motko was named as an Assistant Coach in September of 2011.
Coach Motko works specifically with all on-court operations regarding the men’s basketball program including practice planning and practice instruction. Motko also plays an active role in pre-game functions including film and scouting.
Coach Motko’s experience as a coach is crucial to the continued development of the men’s basketball program and the coaching staff as a whole. Motko brings over 15 years of coaching duties to the program. In that time he served as an Assistant Coach at Pleasantville High School (N.Y.). While at Pleasantville Motko coached in multiple County (Sectional) and Regional Championship games helping Pleasantville secure multiple Sectional and Regional Titles. Coach Motko was also instrumental in the development of Brian Sondey and Greg Fleming as players at Pleasantville and continues to aid in their development today as coaches.
Motko, who currently resides in Montrose, N.Y., works full time at Entergy Nuclear Northeast (Indian Point). Motko and his wife Theresa are the proud parents of Avery (5 in September), and Cameron (2).
