Caldwell, NJ – The Concordia College softball team was back on the road Thursday afternoon to battle the Caldwell Cougars in a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) doubleheader. The Clippers were unable to get their offense going as the Cougars won both games, 10-2 and 10-1.
Concordia struck first on the scoreboard in game one with two runs in the top of the third inning. Nicole Spadaro (Merrick, NY) hit a bases loaded single to center field which scored Victoria Pisciotta (New Hyde Park, NY) and Kristina Patrocinio (Edison, NJ) on the play.

In the fourth the Cougars added five runs and tacked on three more runs in the fifth to end the game by mercy rule, 10-2. Theresa Magnani (Bethpage, NY) was tagged with the loss for the Clippers as she allowed eight earned runs on 10 hits in 4.2 innings.
In game two, Concordia would fall behind after allowing a run in the first inning but rebounded to tie the score in the second. Nelyssa Rosario (Kingsbridge, NY) hit her third home run of the year to right field as the Clippers looked to build off the momentum.
The Cougars would instead drive in four runs in the bottom of the second to take a 5-1 advantage. Another run in the third by Caldwell allowed the team to coast as Concordia only recorded two hits during the remainder of the game.
Caldwell added a grand slam to win in the fifth inning, 10-1. Amanda Ramirez (Lindenhurst, NY) was credited with the loss in 4.1 innings of work allowing eight earned runs and 11 hits.
