Lyndhurst, N.J. – The Clippers opened up their Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) schedule on the road Thursday afternoon at Felician. The Golden Falcons, who were playing in their home-opener, shut out Concordia 6-0 at the Lyndhurst Recreation Complex.
Felician scored four goals in the first half as the team took a total of 25 shots on the Clippers. Freshman goalkeeper Johana Vargas (Queens, N.Y.) recorded a total of nine saves in the game as the Golden Falcons found the back of the net twice in the second half.
Junior forward Alysia Arcona (Hackettstown, N.J.) would score four goals for Felician which matches her total from last season. Sophomore Kelly Sanchez (Queens, N.Y.) had the only shot on goal for Concordia.
The Clippers (0-2-0, 0-1-0 CACC) will next take to the field this Saturday for another CACC match. Concordia will battle Philadelphia U. at 1pm on the campus of SUNY Purchase. Directions to the game can be found on the women's soccer schedule at ConcordiaClippers.com.
