Raphael Namias and Felix Missal, playing in the number three doubles position struggled after getting up 3-0 letting the Rams have two games on their own serve. Namias and Missal rebounded back and took care of the rest of the match as they put the Clippers up 3-0 in the game with their 8-2 win..
The singles matches hit the courts next for the Clippers as they shifted their line-up a little. Usually taking his time on court during his singles match, Raphael Namias, at the number two singles position, was in total control through his first set. Giving up just one game Namias cruised with a 6-1 first set. As the second set rolled on he gave up one more game and controlled the rest of the match as he repeated his first set score in the second set with another 6-1 win.
Felix Missal, moved up to the number one singles spot for the match, hit his angles to gain his points. Missal's serve was broken in the first set but came right back to break it back as he moved one to the second set with a 6-2 victory in the first. The second set proved more challenging for Missal as his serve was broken again and the cold temperatures outside seemed to affect him slightly. Missal regained his composure and finished out the match as he took a 6-4 win in the second set and gave the Clippers the team match win.
Tamas Dobrotka, at the number three singles slot today, was pushed as shots made by his Rams opponent were finding there way into the court. Dobrotka pushed himself and was able to break his opponent just once in order to gain the lead and grab the first set with a 7-5 score. Dobrotka found an easier tempo in the second set and was able to not only break his opponents serve once but twice and hold serve to get the match win with a second set score of 6-2.
Andreas Lindell hit the court in the number four singles spot. Lindell went from start to finish in total control. He blew his opponent away in the first set with a 6-0 dominating performance. The second set Lindell's opponent got away with two game wins but that was all as Lindell finished with the 6-2 second set win.
Shaolin Chandam made his Clippers debut at the number five singles spot. With his first time out on court as a Clipper Chandam dominated his opponent. Chandam went up 7-0 before his Rams opponent got a game but Chandam turned around and served out the match grabbing a 8-1 victory.
Dane Ostilly, playing at the number six singles slot, struggled after winning the opening game. Ostilly found himself down 4-1 at one point before turning it around. Ostilly won the next two games pushing closer to his Rams opponent. As they switched sides Ostilly and his opponent split the next four games. With Ostilly still trailing 6-5, his Rams opponent won his serve and it was up to Ostilly to keep the match going. An unfortunate couple of errors and the Rams stole a match away with a 8-5 win.
The Clippers overall defeated the Rams 8-1. The Clippers will head to Bloomfield College tomorrow to continue their CACC season.
