Tamas Dobrotka and Daniele Piludu garnered ITA East Region Awards for the 2010-2011 tennis season.
Dobrokta, a senior from Ada, Serbia, was tabbed the East Region Senior Player of the Year from the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA). Dobrotka finished his senior year with a 21-2 record in singles and 17-6 overall record in doubles (all in dual match play). Not only has Dobrotka put up the stellar record for the Clippers but helped them head back to the NCAA Semifinals this past week. Dobrotka is currently ranked #7 in singles in the East Region along with being ranked #2 in the East Region and #28 in the Country with court partner Geza Bazula in doubles.
Daniele Piludu, a freshman from Cagliari, Italy, was named East Region Rookie of the Year. This is the second Rookie of the Year honor Piludu has been honored with as he was tabbed the CACC Rookie of the Year as well. Piludu holds a 12-3 singles record and a 11-6 doubles record. Piludu is one of the highest ranked freshman in the country as he stands at number #27 in singles and #7 in doubles (with Andrey Boldarev). Piludu is also #3 in singles and #1 (with Boldarev) in doubles in the East Region.
