Concordia (1-2) travels to Pleasantville after a historic 84-82 victory over Mercy College on Wednesday, Nov. 14 that saw the Clippers match their highest point total in a decade. The Clippers lead the Central Collegiate Athletic Conference (CACC) in assists per game with 18.3 while sitting second in offensive rebounds with 13.0 and fourth in scoring and blocks with marks of 67.3 and 3.0 on top of 38.7 rebounds, 8.0 steals and a .377 field goal percentage.
Junior center Amiya Rankins (Somerset, N.J.) ties for the highest blocks per game rate in the CACC at 1.7 while leading the Clippers, and ranking fifth in the league, with 17.3 points per game on .523 shooting. Junior guard Nicole Nicholson (Staten Island, N.Y.) also averages double-digit points with 13.0 after matching her career high in scoring with 23 against Mercy and ties for fifth in the conference with 2.3 steals. Sophomore guards Cameron Corbett (Staten Island, N.Y.) and Saundra Cleckley (Queens, N.Y.) both sit in the top-10 of the CACC in assists per game with marks of 4.7 and 4.3, ranking fourth and sixth respectively, with Corbett matching sophomore guard Jordyn Hornbuckle (Hopkinsville, Ky.) for the team high in rebounds at 5.3 to go with 1.7 steals.
About the Setters
Pace (0-3) welcomes Concordia for the Setters' home opener after falling at Adelphi 57-52 in their Northeast 10 opener on Wednesday, Nov. 14. The Setters average 51.0 points on .321 shooting with 38.7 rebounds, 10.3 steals, 8.0 assists and 1.7 blocks.
Jackie DelliSanti paces the Setters with 9.3 points, 7.7 rebounds, 0.7 blocks and a .462 clip. Lauren Hackett dishes out a team-best 2.3 assists with 2.0 steals, matching Lauren Schetter for the team lead with Schetter second in scoring with 8.7.
