Bloomfield, N.J. – The Clippers women's soccer team played in their final road game on Wednesday evening as they battled Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) opponent Bloomfield College. Concordia would score the opening goal of the match but the Deacons scored two goals in the closing minutes to take a 2-1 victory.
The Clippers' goal came in the 59th minute off an own goal by Bloomfield. Two goals for the Deacons would be scored seven minutes apart by Stacey Jones off a header and a free kick to give the team their third win of the season.
Freshman goalkeeper Johana Vargas (Queens, N.Y.) recorded a game-high 12 saves for Concordia as the team was outshot 18-8. Bloomfield would also hold a 6-1 advantage in corner kick opportunities against the Clippers.
Concordia (0-14-0, 0-11-0 CACC) will conclude their 2012 season on Tuesday with a home match against Caldwell. The Clippers will take to the field of Holtdorf Soccer Field at 3pm for Senior Day. Fans unable to attend can follow the action via the Live Stats link on ConcordiaClippers.com
