NEW HAVEN, Conn. – The Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) announced its women's tennis weekly award winners on Tuesday afternoon, with Concordia College New York's freshman Paula Palero (Cullera, Spain) claiming both the league's Player and Rookie of the Week honors.
Palero went 4-0 for the week, winning both of her singles bouts 6-0, 6-0 while she and fellow freshman Ebba Rosberg (Stockholm, Sweden) won both of their doubles contests against Caldwell University and Chestnut Hill College by scores of 6-2 and 7-5.
For the season, Palero boasts an undefeated 6-0 record in singles action with a 5-1 mark alongside Rosberg for 11 total triumphs that ties for the team lead.
It is her first acknowledgment from the conference office, and the fourth-straight week the Clippers have earned the league's Rookie of the Week nod with third Player of the Week distinction during the stretch.
The Clippers travel to Post University on Wednesday, Oct. 9 for a 3 p.m. CACC matchup.
